ABOUT ME

My career, although still in it's fledgling stages, has been on the fast track for what I hope will be continued success. I completed a ten-month Pastry Arts Program at my local community college, NSCC. While there, I seized the option to enter the provincial Skills Canada competition as my final practical exam. I graduated not only with honours, but with opportunities I could never have imagined. The next few month were a whirlwind flying this small town girl to compete in Edmonton, and then on to represent Canada at the WorldSkills of the Americas Competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

 

Upon my arrival home I was bombarded with phonecalls. I'm not sure who was more shocked – myself or the local reporters – that this girl from rural Nova Scotia had just brough home a culinary Gold medal for Canada!

 

When I think back, I honestly still find it unbelievable, but my success in Brazil had raised the attention of a company in B.C. that moved me out to the West Coast, where I now reside. I've had many opportunities to learn and grow as a young chef in Vancouver, and I now enjoy an exciting career in Product Development.
